	•	Read the directiuons and tutorials

	•	Follow each link for an entire overview

	•	Download Microsoft Reader

	•	Used the following web site to access books and info

	•	http://www.bn.com

	•	Clicked on E-books from the toolbar

	•	Ordered a book from the menu

	•	Followed the Microsoft Reader link to READERWORKS link

	•	Downloaded Reader Works link

	•	Downloaded Microsoft Encarta Dictionary from another link

	•	Accessed the Standard edition publishing program(free)

	•	Followed these simple directions from Reader Works Standard( or how to publish your OWN E- BOOK)

1. Read the Help menu from Overdrive Reader Works

2. From the left pane practice clicking the following for info:

	•	Source files

	•	Table of Contents

	•	Cover page

	•	Marketing data

3. CLICK PROPERTIES TO SHOW YOU HOW TO PUBLISH(EX.)

	•	Author - Gerry Cernicky

	•	Subject - physical education

	•	Description - lessons , links and info on teaching P.E.

	•	Publisher - must upgrade for this($$$)

	•	Contributors- anybody that helps(PE CENTRAL , G.GRAHAM)

	•	Date - October 23 rd , 2000

	•	Type - how to book

	•	Format - you decide

	•	Source - images , text , documents , etc.

	•	Language - English/Spanish /French , etc.

	•	Rights - copy right(upgrade here , too)

HOW TO BUILD THE BOOK in STEPS :

1. ENTER THE TITLE

2. CHOSE SOURCE FILES(text , images , documents)

3. TABLE OF CONTENTS

4. COVER PAGE

5. MARKETING DATA($$$)

6. FILE - click on build e-book

7. PUBLISH

FROM YHIS POINT IT WILL END UP IN YOUR MICROSOFT READER PROGRAM ALONG WITH THESE ICONS;

	•	Reader GUIDEBOOK

	•	LIBRARY

	•	ANY BOOKS YOU PURCHASED OR YOUR BOOK

	•	CLICK ON ANY ICON WILL DIRECT YOU THERE

HOW WILL YOU USE THE READER PROGRAM ?

Here are some shortcuts in the READER PROGRAM :

	•	Open up any book and here is what you can do

	•	Right click a word and it is saved and with ENCARTA dictionary download will detect its defintion

	•	Swipe any word and it will become a yellow highlighter

	•	Chose the pencil tool and you can circle the word

	•	You can adda bookmark with colors(right click last page read

	•	All of these will be saved in ANNOTATIONS menu for future use

	•	When finished a last page read menu will bookmark what page was last accessed

	•	Click on your E-BOOK( Mine is P.E. MY WAY)

	•	Publish to the WORLD($$$) or keep in your Microsoft Reader Library in private
